Welcome Leica!

After Winnie went to his furever home, I thought I wouldn't get another foster for a while.

Surprise surprise! A week later, my new foster Leica was already running around my place like a little piglet on steroids (she's a shitzu and makes these cute snorting sounds).

The Grounds Cafe, Stittsville

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit this nice cafe in Stittsville and thought I'd share my pictures and opinions on it.

I was super excited to try this place out as the reviews were fairly good and the interior seemed rather fancy with wooden tables and sky-blue chairs.

As expected, the place was spacious and elegantly-decorated and a big order counter was facing us at the end of the room.

Dog Friendly Ottawa: Union Street Kitchen Cafe

Today was a beautiful day and my mom and I decided to explore a cafe in Ottawa that I had been wanting to try after reading about it on Narcity Ottawa.

This cute little cafe is located in New Edinburgh, well hidden in a nice and quiet residential area not too far from the downtown core.

Obviously, Benji had to come with us.

Winnie's Happy Tails

It finally happened! My sweet foster Pooh Bear found his furever home at last.

On the way to drop him off, I felt like I was betraying him. There he was, following me like he always used to do. At the usual corner that we take to head back home, he stopped and tried to take his usual route. Instead, we continued walking to where my car was parked. He looked confused but went on to walk behind me.

Mod Bone Wood Puzzle Dog Toy Review

We have been swamped and a lot has happened since we last showed sign of life, so we figured we would introduce you guys to this new toy that Benji recently got!

I found this dog toy at HomeSense and although I didn't buy it the first time, I knew that Benji would love it and got it for him on my second visit there when I saw it was still sitting on the same shelf as the time before.

This game is basically a puzzle for dogs.

What Type of Dog is Right for You?

If you have been thinking of getting a new family member, you either already know that you're going to get a Male Black French Bulldog Puppy that you will name Donut, or you are sitting on your couch with some Advil on the side from thinking too much: What breed should I look for? Male? Female? A puppy or a senior? A rescue dog or a pure-bred, registered puppy? A great dane or a chihuahua?

Eating in Quebec City

Today, as promised, we will be focusing on FOOD!

Unfortunately, I was not able to capture every single thing we ate on camera as there were times when the food was already half gone by the time I realized I wanted a picture.

Priorities...

Quebec City Trip

We promise we have a good reason for having been absent for a while.
Benji and I just returned from beautiful Quebec City with his friend Daisy and my mom!

The last time I went to Quebec City was about a year ago with my students and I’ve been wanting to go back on my own free time to enjoy the food and take pictures that don’t involve selfies with students (although we secretly love them all, whatever they put us through during the school year!).

Crazy Dog Lady

Although I used to live with 7 chihuahuas and 5 cocker spaniels back in Switzerland (and chickens… and tortoises… and guinea pigs… and… ok I should stop), I find that living with 3 dogs at the moment is still a struggle.

My mom’s chihuahua Daisy is currently staying with us and I swear I could make 3 more chihuahuas out of all the fur she’s losing in my apartment.
