Summer Mini with Serena the Chiweenie

Last Friday was the perfect day for a mini-session after a horrible heat wave that lasted about a week! I had been telling Benji that he was going to meet "Serena the Wan-Wan" for days. "Wan-wan" is baby talk for "dog" in Japanese and Benji clearly understood (or so I'd like to think).

Going on Vacation? What to Know Before Leaving your Dog Behind

Let's face it. We'd all want to take Fido travelling with us, but it's unfortunately not always possible. So what do you need to know before leaving your pooch behind?

Leica's Happy Tails

This post is seriously overdue, but good news is good news! Leica is now my second foster dog to have successfully found her new kingdom (or should I say "queendom"?) and I couldn't be happier for this little goblin!

About a month ago, Leica and I started being in touch with an amazing family that was interested in adopting her. I was hoping this would work out as Leica was in love with them and I was convinced she would do very well there.

Dog Friendly Ottawa: Little Victories Coffee

Another weekend, another adventure!

Last weekend, Benji and I went on a hunt to find another dog-friendly cafe to hang out together. Our stop: Little Victories Coffee on Wellington West.

This little gem is well hidden and although it's located on the main street, we missed it the first time as we didn't even notice it.

Diva Nina Dog Product Review

A few years ago, when Benji and I went to the Ottawa Pet Expo, we met Nadine at her Diva Nina booth and fell in love with her products. I wanted to buy the whole store for Benji, but I was tight on budget and left with her business card instead.

Her items were, however, always on my mind and I regretted not buying anything back then. This year, I finally contacted her using the wrinkled business card I had kept for so long, and we agreed to meet at the Ottawa Pet Expo again this year.

What to Feed a Picky Dog?

Since Leica has been staying with us, everything has been going uphill for her and I'm so proud of this little one! She now occasionally runs on walks, plays even more and despite her health issues that we are working on, she has been all smiles.

However, after over a month with her, there was still a tiny problem that I did not know how to deal with. Being the cute little princess that she is (although she looks more like a seal than a princess), Leica is an incredibly picky eater.

Dog Friendly Ottawa: Union Street Kitchen Cafe

Today was a beautiful day and my mom and I decided to explore a cafe in Ottawa that I had been wanting to try after reading about it on Narcity Ottawa.

This cute little cafe is located in New Edinburgh, well hidden in a nice and quiet residential area not too far from the downtown core.

Obviously, Benji had to come with us.

Winnie's Happy Tails

It finally happened! My sweet foster Pooh Bear found his furever home at last.

On the way to drop him off, I felt like I was betraying him. There he was, following me like he always used to do. At the usual corner that we take to head back home, he stopped and tried to take his usual route. Instead, we continued walking to where my car was parked. He looked confused but went on to walk behind me.

Mod Bone Wood Puzzle Dog Toy Review

We have been swamped and a lot has happened since we last showed sign of life, so we figured we would introduce you guys to this new toy that Benji recently got!

I found this dog toy at HomeSense and although I didn't buy it the first time, I knew that Benji would love it and got it for him on my second visit there when I saw it was still sitting on the same shelf as the time before.

This game is basically a puzzle for dogs.
